ABOUT LSVD+

LSVD⁺ (Federation Queer Diversity) is the largest NGO in Germany that represents the interests of queer people in politics, the media and society.

The association helped to achieve marriage for all, campaigns for equal rights and self-determination for the LGBTQIA+ community and continues to fight for more recognition and acceptance. It is also committed to strengthening democracy and supports human rights defenders in the Global South and Eastern Europe. Hate and agitation against LGBTQIA+ people are increasing every year - making it even more important to join forces to stand together against this exclusion.

In the media, in politics and in international initiatives, the LSVD⁺, together with its Hirschfeld-Eddy Foundation, campaigns for constitutional protection against discrimination and the promotion of human rights, diversity and respect. The LSVD⁺ sees itself as a social watchdog. In its projects, it promotes rainbow competence in children's and youth work and empowers queer refugees.

As a member of the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Organization (ILGA), the LSVD⁺ is active both nationally and internationally. In this way, the association and foundation also make a valuable contribution to the global representation of the interests of queer people.

FACTS ABOUT QUEER DISCRIMINATION

In 62 countries, homosexuality is criminalized, and in 12 countries, lesbians and gays even face the death penalty. State authorities are often involved in the oppression of LGBTQIA+ individuals, denying them any protection from harassment and violence, which often goes unpunished for the perpetrators.

Furthermore, there is a distinction between legally recognized queer rights and practical acceptance in everyday life in lots of countries worldwide. We still have a long way to go, folks!
